Explore southeast Malta

During this tour we will stop at Birżebbuġa for a visit to Għar Dalam the only cave in Malta where ice age fauna was found dating back to 1,800,000 years and from where we can have an idea of the people living on the island in 5,200BC from remains found in the human layers at this cave. The fishing village of Marsaxlokk will be another stop during this tour. At Marsaxlokk you can have time for a nice stroll along the coast and to have a look at the open-air market. We will also visit Żurrieq a seaside town known mainly for the massive cave known as Blue Grotto. You can have the opportunity to go for a boat ride weather permitting(at an extra cost) to visit a series of caves which are unique. During this tour we will be stopping for lunch- this is not included in the tour price.



Cities and fortifications

This tour would take you to the 3 cities which are Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea. We will be walking through the winding streets of Vittoriosa passing on to Cospicua and then across the bridge that would lead us to Senglea. We will head to Gardjola gardens from where you can take a look at the breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour. From there we will leave and go to visit the capital city, Valletta. The city that’s brimming with history. In Valletta we will stop for lunch (not included in the tour price) and you will also be given time for shopping.
Should you wish to enter any churches in Valletta during your free time it is advisable to bring a shawl with you or to be decently dressed.



North of Malta

This tour would take you to the north part of Malta. The stops during this tour will be a photo stop at Popeye Village which is situated in Anchor Bay. This village was built as a film set in the 80’s for the film Popeye. We will drive through the town of Mellieħa which is known for it’s Parish Church dedicated to the Birth of Our Lady and an underground grotto. Near the Church there is also the WWII shelter. We will go to the northern tip where there’s Armier Bay which actually consists of two bays, Armier and little Armier, both beautiful sandy beaches. We will stop for lunch there – extra cost. After lunch we will continue our tour to the other side of l-Armier to a place known as “l-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa” which is a popular campsite and offers breathtaking scenery. Mellieħa is known for it’s beautiful surrounding sea and being so close to the sea it was prone to attacks so Grandmaster Lascaris decided to built a tower to protect this area. This tower which is still standing is known as the red tower. We will have a stop at this tower and see it only from the outside. As the tower is situated upon a hill, one can easily see the sister island of Gozo and Comino island on one side, while on the other side there is a view of the beach and of Foresta 200 nature reserve. Both sides are perfect for photos.
During the summer months it is advisable to bring a shawl with you should you like to visit the church and to be decently dressed.
